- Law Roach confirmed that he will be attending the 2026 Met Gala this year solo.
- The stylist noted that his attendance will be “one of the first times” the Met will be about him.
- Zendaya is skipping the event this year after completing two press tours for The Drama and Euphoria.
Sorry to all of you Met Gala fans who were hoping that Zendaya would be attending this year, but our girl is staying home (more on that later). But! Law Roach will still be in attendance at the annual fashion charity event this year, this time going solo—and with no celebrity as his muse for the night—with a look custom-made for him.
The stylist revealed in an interview with ELLE that his solo appearance at the Met Gala on Monday marks a special time in his career in fashion. “It’s one of the first times in my career that going to the Met is about me,” he told the outlet.
Although Zendaya is skipping this year, Law is preparing to step out in an incredible look, make no mistake. This year, he called up designer Alexandre Mattiussi of French brand Ami for a three-piece suit in white. “I’m such a fan of his work,” he told the outlet. “I’ve used it at the Oscars for two of my clients, Ryan Destiny and Jeremy Pope.” He then enlisted Gabonese artist Naïla Opiangah to create artwork for the suit. “I have a few of her works in my home in Atlanta,” he added. “She’s an architect by trade. I’m the only Image Architect in the world, so everything felt right.”
So why is Zendaya staying home this year, you ask? No official reason was given, but she was spotted in Sherman Oaks, California, last week to support Tom Holland at his Bero Padel Classic event. The next day, she was spotted in New York—not attending to Met Gala business but to shoot a campaign for On. It’s also worth mentioning that Zendaya recently wrapped press tours for The Drama and Euphoria, so she’s probably using the break to rest.
As a refresher, Z wore this killer Louis Vuitton look to the 2025 Met Gala’s “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” theme.
Zendaya will be missed on the carpet, but I am anxiously awaiting Law’s moment in the spotlight.
